september?

September? What the....? Oh summer where have you gone? For all my blog friends, my apologies for not posting (Kelsey especially).

Summer flew by so quickly, it was great for us but very busy. As most of you know I started a new job with NSCC last fall. With this new position included summer school, that's where you could find me most of the summer. A big hug and thanks to Pam & Bob for your great hospitality! I love you guys. During summer downtime (what's that mean anyways) we camped in our new trailer, enjoyed family time and I got to take lots of pictures. I'm finally caught up with the photo editing, my hard drive is almost full! This morning I found this funny studio shot of the kids. The posed pictures from this shoot are really cute, I will share them soon, but I thought you would get a chuckle out of this photo. It really made me laugh, so typical. The kids are so much fun, and their little personalities sparkle and entertain us everyday.

More catch up work ahead of me today but not all work. We're heading out to an annual washer toss tournament and looking forward to that! Always good fun. More photos to come later this week. I'm back in the groove! Happy Sunday.

who am I?

Its been a long time since I last submitted a post. I've been busy working on courses for my new position at NSCC.

This week I'm learning about portfolio learning! So friends, here's a sneak peak at what makes me me.

P.S. More posts to come later this week!

fleurs pour mama

I want to share with you the most beautiful little flowers I have ever seen.

The most precious gift we can offer others is our presence. When mindfulness embraces those we love, they will bloom like flowers.

spring walk

After supper we set out on an "adventure" - aka evening stroll.

It was a lovely evening, not too buggy and just a slight breeze. The buds and blossoms are beginning to explode with life.

We discovered a wildlife park at the neighbors - geese, deer and....look...look carefully...can you see him....a new neighbor.....Ourson the bear.

friday sunset

Happy fun friday everyone.

My new camera buddy inspired me to get out this evening and take advantage of the evening light. I'm really liking this sunset picture. I played around with the camera timer and took a self portrait...lots of fun. Play really, that's all it is. The big kid playing in the field with her camera.

Some kids never grow up.

Cheers & happy weekend.

caught in the act

"Hmmmm, where is that yogurt? I know its here somewhere."

Its moments like these why I don't use a camera bag. The key to taking photos is to have your camera where you can grab it at any minute to capture all those fun moments, take advantage of great lighting and things that you don't see everyday.

Yes, photos come before discipline in our house...well, most of the time.

a touch of colour

special delivery

So if you haven't had a chance to check out Etsy shops skip on over and look at all the handmade goodies. I enjoy looking at all the creative treasures I even made my first purchase. There is something fun about receiving a special package in the mail. Thank you Sherrie for the delicious smelling soaps. If you're interested in handmade soaps check out Birch Bark handmade soaps (once you start using them you won't turn back). Also check out Frenchy's Finds for fun photos, tips and recipes.

celebrate

This evening we had a little birthday party for grandad, a young 85. We celebrated with a nice supper and cake of course. Loved this shot with the kids.

tucked in

This photo is just too cute not to share.

My big man worked hard all night on a "secret" project. When he finally settled, it was about the time when the girl was rising. In her usual routine she asked "daddy will you nuggle me?" Good ol' dad could not resist. A few minutes later she appeared for breakfast. Later as we were just about to head out the door on our Saturday adventure, I discovered him sound asleep in the girl's bed, with company.

pimp my ride - bunny style

easter & funny kids

Last weekend we visited with friends and the boy was asked if the Easter bunny was coming to him. So 0f course, excitedly he responded "yessss! " Then you could see him thinking about it for a minute and he asks, "Mark, which province does the Easter bunny live in?" Mark, who doesn't have kids yet was quite taken back by his question and had to come up with a quick answer. Good practice Mark, your time is coming.

photo a day: jaunary 22

all about eyes

Today was eye test day for the boy. Every time we go he gets better at the "games" they play. Little does he know that they're testing him. Or maybe he has it all figured out. This black and white image by the light board is one of my favourites. Each visit, he turns the testing onto me, as if it was my eye test day. He says, "now mummy, YOU stand on the line and tell me what this shape is." Who's being tested here anyways? Eye tests are usually followed by a visit to our optician to get his glasses straightened. Another fav snapped in the mirror. Mirrors make great frames for pictures. Give it a try. Also, if you haven't had your eyes tested lately, and you keep putting it off, go and do it, this world is worth seeing in all its shapes and colours.

adventure

When you're two, walking through a tunnel is a big adventure. Part of our winter walks includes walking through this big "tunnel" and saying "ahhhhh" really loud. OK, I admit, its fun for the big kid too.
